Devices

Devices are your registered instruments — the ARTiMiS units that capture samples and push them to the cloud.

What the Devices page does

From Devices (in the user menu) you can:

  • Register a new instrument so it can upload to your organization.
  • Rename an instrument to something recognizable.
  • Decommission one that’s no longer in service.

Decommissioning is soft

Decommissioning an instrument revokes its access but keeps its row and all of its past sample attribution intact — so historical data stays correctly credited to the device that captured it. It’s a retirement, not a deletion.

Who can manage devices

Registering, renaming, and decommissioning are limited to admins and supervisors. These actions are disabled in demo organizations.

Quick start

  1. Open Devices from the user menu.
  2. Register your instrument (or claim it via the device’s own setup flow).
  3. Give it a clear name; decommission it later if it leaves service.
